In the heart of the Algarve, in the municipality of Lagoa, located on the stunning Algarve coastline, we find the "Gruta de Benagil". Located in the fishing village of Benagil, I dare say that it is probably the main visiting card of the Algarve.

The Benagil cave has two entrances from the sea, separated by a rocky sandstone wall, and inside there is a beach of golden sand, illuminated by the "Algar de Benagil", known as “the eye” of the cave. The "algar" is a rocky cavity whose shape was made by the action of nature over time and which allows the sun's rays to enter its interior, and that makes this place even more fascinating.
An organized boat trip is the perfect option if you want to visit the Benagil caves and observe other stunning caves and cliffs along the Algarve coast.
